SATREPSボリビアプロジェクト「高栄養価作物キヌアのレジリエンス強化生産技術の開発と普及」の課題2における圃場試験の形質調査およびウユニ周辺圃場の現地調査
成果の概要
Our Project aims to develop early maturing quinoa with enhanced resilience to climate change in the Bolivian Altiplano (4,000 MASL). The main goal is to provide an escape mechanism for quinoa crops from short rainfall periods, prolonged drought, and seasonal low temperature (winter frost). To advance this task, I traveled to Bolivia, to monitor the field experiments set in the PROINPA experimental field, aiming to identify Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) associated to early maturity. During my visit, we recorded flowering and maturity dates of individual breeding lines for QTL analysis. Plants were then harvested upon reaching commercial maturity. We also organized an open day event to showcase our Project activities to local quinoa-producing farmers. Additionally, we participated in a SATREPs meeting to present and discuss our research progress, followed by an open day event for farmers, and a field trip to survey quinoa cultivation in the areas surrounding the Salar de Uyuni Lake.
