成果の概要
The "Arable Land Environment 3" project focused on monitoring greenhouse gas emissions from arable land and carried out its third year of cultivation tests in the rice-growing region of Majunga, northwestern Madagascar. We completed yield surveys, collected grain samples for the analysis of yield component parameters, and gathered weekly collected air samples for the analysis of gas concentrations. Under the "SATREPS Madagascar 2" project, field cultivation tests were conducted across four different climatic regions in Madagascar to reduce environmental impact and improve the sustainability of rice production. We executed eight field experiments (two at each site) employing the localized phosphorus dipping (P-dipping) technique alongside conventional farmers' management practices. Throughout the mission period, we established field trials, applied treatments, and completed field transplanting across all sites. Additionally, we installed samplers to monitor soil environmental parameters and constructed chamber bases and bridges for gas sample collection. New technicians received training on gas sampling from rice fields, and we completed our initial gas sampling in collaboration with local counterparts.
