1.緩和・適応評価のための現地圃場試験の実施
2.SATREPSマダガスカルプロジェクト2研究題目1の試験圃場選定
成果の概要
Under the project Arable Land Environment 3, we conducted our third-year field experiments in Majunga, Madagascar, focusing on verifying the impacts of water management techniques such as alternate wetting and drying (AWD) irrigation methods and the introduction of early-morning rice varieties on canopy micro-climate, rice yield, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. During the mission, we established a comprehensive field trial by transplanting two rice varieties and installing various sensors to continuously monitor soil and plant environmental parameters, including soil moisture, temperature, redox potential, and weather conditions.
In addition to the experimental setup, field observations were carried out in regions such as Behenjy and Ankarafantsika to select suitable rice fields for future GHG measurement trials during the rainy season under the SATREPS Madagascar 2 project. Based on consultations with local farmers and assessments of soil and management practices, two promising fields in each site were selected for the upcoming trials scheduled for December 2025. These activities also facilitated discussions with farmers regarding potential collaboration opportunities within the framework of the project.
