During the previous business trip (June 5 to 18, 2022), we started field trials of soybeans in SARI (Savanna Agriculture Research Institute) field located in Northern Ghana in line with the start of the rainy season. Therefore, on this business trip, to analyze the nitrogen-fixing activity of soybean, we received guidance from the During the previous business trip (June 5 to 18, 2022), we started field trials of soybeans in SARI (Savanna Agriculture Research Institute) field located in Northern Ghana in line with the start of the rainy season. Therefore, on this business trip, to analyze the nitrogen-fixing activity of soybean, we received guidance from the counterpart on the sample collection method and analysis. We collected samples of plant shoots, roots, and xylem sap, for analysis at soil analysis laboratory in UDS (University for Development Studies). We also learned a simple analysis to quantify nitrogen fixation of soybean plants from UDS research counterparts. In addition, we discussed the future activities (next sampling, harvesting, etc.) with SARI and UDS counterparts.
