成果の概要

I traveled to Madagascar from 2017 May 15 to June 16 to lead the harvest of field experiments carried out by the SATREPS research project, in different rice producing areas of Madagascar. All the activities were coordinated and carried out together with our project counterparts (C/Ps). Our objective is to evaluate the field performance of breeding lines and select new sub-lines from low-land IR64-Pup1, upland Nerica4 x DJ123, and CG14 x WAB45-104, and from a set of genotypes from the genome-wide association studies (GWAS) panel. We have performed the harvest evaluation several times according to the line maturity. The parameters evaluated were: shoot biomass, panicle weight and general field performance. The resulting data will be processed in the following weeks, and a report will be prepared. In addition, we have threshed and cleaned the seeds of selected breeding lines to be used for seed multiplication and advance generation, in two field sites located in warmer places compared with the Antananarivo surrounding areas.
