SATREPSボリビアプロジェクト「高栄養価作物キヌアのレジリエンス強化生産技術の開発と普及」の課題2における圃場評価試験に向けたキヌア播種を実施する
成果の概要
Our Project aims to develop early-maturing quinoa with enhanced resilience to climate change in the Bolivian Altiplano (4,000 MASL). The main objective is to provide an escape mechanism for quinoa crops from short rainfall periods, prolonged drought, and seasonal low temperature (winter frost). To advance this task, I traveled to Bolivia, to established field experiments at the PROINPA experimental field. During this period, seeds of selected breeding lines were threshed, cleaned and individually bagged for sowing. Subsequently, a drip irrigation system was set up to ensure a reliable water supply, since rainfall pattern is very unstable in the region. Seeds of each selected breeding line were then sown in wet soil and lightly covered. The experiment was set in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Steel arches were anchored with strong ropes and ground pegs, followed by the installation of an anti-bird net covering the experimental plot to protect plants from bird damage.
