成果の概要

Field observations were carried out in two rice-growing regions of Madagascar to investigate the potential synergistic effect of the localized phosphorus (P) dipping technique and root architecture on early rice growth and nutrient uptake efficiency. The effect of P-dipping on early rice growth was clearly observed, but there were some growth differences among the tested genotypes. After 60 days of transplanting, both shoot biomass and intensive root sampling from different soil layers were successfully conducted. Additionally, field observations were made to evaluate the early flowering caused by P-dipping for the development of rice-based vegetable cropping systems, aimed at enhancing land productivity in Madagascar.
