成果の概要
To further improve the localized P-dipping effect on rice growth and grain yield, we set up second-year field trials to assess the interaction effect of P-dipping and rice genotypes with different root system architectures on farmers’ fields in two rice-growing regions of Madagascar. During the mission, we successfully transplanted two rice fields and installed soil solution samplers to analyze the spatial distribution of soluble phosphorus in different soil layers. In addition, for the development of a rice-based vegetable cultivation system, we set up nine field trials in three rice-growing areas to evaluate the P-dipping effect on early rice flowering and then the potential of vegetable cultivation by utilizing early flowering through P-dipping to further increase land productivity.
