開催趣旨

いもち病は温帯や熱帯でイネを栽培している国々における最も重要な病気の一つです。その被害額は毎年20億米ドル（イネ生産量の1％）と見積もられています。国際農研は長年イネいもち病研究ネットワークを牽引し、安定生産と環境に配慮した農業を両立させながらこの問題に対処するための重要な知見を蓄積してきました。近年、幅広い分子生物学的研究により病原性のメカニズムが解明されましたが、その成果を応用する技術に関する研究は十分ではありません。このワークショップでは、参加者の議論を通じて、今までに得られた成果に基づく実践的技術開発を促進します。このワークショップはFFTCの活動計画の一つ「環境に配慮した技術」と関係しています。これは、この病気の世界的/越境性という性格を考えると、主催者の役割と合致します。

このオンラインワークショップでは、アジア・太平洋地域から研究者を招待し、１）いもち病研究の最近の進展、２）いもち病防除の成功事例、３）育種による効果的防除法、４）農業的手法による効果的防除法、５）総合的手法による効果的防除法、６）効果的な国際共同研究の方向性の観点から話をしてもらいます。新型コロナウイルスの世界的な広がりの影響で、本ワークショップはインターネットによるライブ配信で開催します。

目的

効果的な防除に向けたいもち病研究の最近の進展と圃場への適用に関する知見を交換する。
いもち病の効果的で適用可能な技術開発に向けた国際共同研究を強化する。
いもち病研究の将来的展望と効果的な防除に向けた公的機関や民間会社の役割を提示する。
