On May 16, 2025, JIRCAS participated in the open session of the 19th ASEAN Agricultural Research and Development Technology Working Group (ASEAN ATWGARD) held in Bangkok. This session serves as a platform for development partners to provide input to stakeholders from ASEAN countries.

At this session, in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), JIRCAS reported the results of a pilot study conducted in fiscal year 2024 in Thailand and Vietnam under the title, “Survey on the Utilization of the Technology Catalog Contributing to Production Potential and Sustainability in the Asia-Monsoon Region.”

This survey was conducted from the perspective that it is important to provide concrete information on which countries or regions within countries should adopt specific technologies to promote their social implementation. Two technologies listed in Technology Catalog were selected for pilot verification. The study estimated the effects of introducing “Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) Feeding Technology” and “Fermented Rice Noodle Liquefaction Suppression Technology,” both noted as greenhouse gas reduction technologies. These technologies are included in Technology Catalog, which was developed as part of the Green Asia initiative, and are expected to see further adoption in ASEAN countries.

Both technologies are scalable in the Asia-Monsoon region, and this presentation is expected to serve as a catalyst to further advance their social implementation across ASEAN countries.
