Thailand (/ˈtaɪlænd/ TY-land or /ˈtaɪlənd/ TY-lənd; Thai: ประเทศไทย, rtgs: Prathet Thai, pronounced [pra.tʰêːt tʰaj] ), officially the Kingdom of Thailand (Thai: ราชอาณาจักรไทย, rtgs: Ratcha-anachak Thai [râːt.t͡ɕʰa.ʔaː.naː.t͡ɕàk tʰaj] ), formerly known as Siam (Thai: สยาม, rtgs: Sayam [sa.jǎːm]), is a country at the centre of the Indochinese peninsula in Southeast Asia. With a total area of approximately 513,000 km2 (198,000 sq mi), Thailand is the world's 51st-largest country.

Green Asia Achievements Showcased at an ASEAN Regenerative and Resilient Agriculture Workshop
From April 9 to 10, 2026, the “First ASEAN Consultation Workshop and Capacity Building: Development of Regenerative and Resilient Agriculture Systems Implementation Plan and Biochar Guidelines,” an event co-hosted by the ASEAN Secretariat and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) participated in the workshop at the invitation of the ASEAN Secretariat.
Introduction of JIRCAS Research at KMITL Agricultural Fair 2026
From February 6 to 15, 2026, the KMITL Agricultural Fair 2026 was held at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Bangkok, Thailand. This fair is a comprehensive annual exhibition in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food organized by the university, and it is the largest event of its kind in eastern Bangkok. The venue featured a wide variety of programs, including the sale of local agricultural products and processed foods, research presentations by students and researchers, and hands-on activities, attracting many visitors throughout the event.

The Thai Science and Technology Fair is the largest fair of the year in Thailand featuring advances in science and technology. The 2019 fair under the concept of “Science, Technology and Innovation: Inspiring Creativity for Better Living and Sustainability for the Nation” was held at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center in the province of Nonthaburi from August 16-25, 2019.
