APAARI General Assembly Meeting

The Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) was established in December 1990. Now, it has 20 regular members from Asia and Pacific region, including JIRCAS, 16 associate members,? 8 affiliate members, and 11 reciprocal members. The APAARI General Assembly Meeting, which is a top decision-making meeting participated by all the members, is organized every two years. The 13th APAARI was taken place in Bangkok on November 1, 2014. During the meeting, the participants apprised the past two-year’s activities and account statement, and discussed the work plan and budget for next two years. JIRCAS introduced the outline of the APAARI-JIRCAS Consultation on Assuring Food Safety in Asia-Pacific, jointly hosted by JIRCAS and APAARI in August in Tsukuba, Japan. At the end of meeting, tokens were presented to Dr. Masa Iwanaga, JIRCAS President, who has been working as Vice-Chairman of the APAARI Excecutive Committee (EC) as well as other EC members who will complete their terms in the end of this years.
