The International Renewable Agency (IRENA), an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, has published a study on the bioenergy potential from sugarcane and associated development costs in seven sugar-producing countries in the Southern Africa focusing on economic potential in expanding bioenergy production and reducing price of fuel and electricity.
