On August 5, the TICAD 8 official side-event “Healthy Soils for Food Security in Africa: The Potential of Regenerative Agriculture” co-organized by JIRCAS and the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) was held online. A report and video of the event are now available on the SAA website.

Small-scale farmers in Africa are facing risks due to global crises such as climate change.  The widespread diffusion of improved technologies to address these crises is essential to balance food production and sustainable natural resource management. In recent years, digital technologies have played an important role in agricultural extension and are spreading rapidly. This event will will highlight trends, good practices, and recommendations for multidimensional, digitally-enabled agricultural extension in face of global crisis.
