JARQについて
Japan Agricultural Research Quarterly (JARQ)は国立研究開発法人 国際農林水産業研究センター(国際農研)が刊行する英文学術誌です。わが国の農林水産業技術研究の成果やその動向を海外、とりわけ開発途上国に紹介することを目的にしています。
Japan Agricultural Research Quarterly (JARQ) は、1966年の創刊依頼、時代の要請に応じて編集方針を改訂してきました。現在の編集方針は2025年3月12日に改訂され、「我が国の農林水産業に関する試験研究及び我が国の研究者が関与する国際共同研究の成果・動向等を、原著論文及びレビューなどを通じて、広く内外に紹介すること」を目的としています。この趣旨に基づき、JARQは原著論文(original articles)と研究レビュー(research reviews)を掲載しており、これらの情報は、開発途上地域の農業発展に寄与することが期待されています。
1999年7月23日改訂のJARQ編集方針では、論文の区分が現在と異なっていました。当時は、「研究論文」(research articles)が用いられ、原著論文に限らず、「著者が行った一連の研究について、既に発表されたものも含め、研究のねらい、方法、成果、波及効果等を紹介する。」ことが認められていました。
この1999年の方針に基づき、JARQ編集事務局は既発表の内容を含む研究論文も受け付けていました。しかし、現行の編集方針(2025年3月12日改訂)では、原著論文は「著者が行った研究に基づく成果をとりまとめたもので、内容などで他に前例のない論文。」と定義されており、既発表の論文は受け付けていません。
