On March 28, 2024, Associate Professor Tran Sy Nam and Researcher Huynh Van Thao from the College of Environment and Natural Resources, Can Tho University (CTU), Vietnam, paid a courtesy visit to President KOYAMA Osamu and exchanged views with JIRCAS researchers. With a history of cooperation spanning more than 30 years, JIRCAS and CTU have been conducting joint research since the 1990s and have been jointly implementing a comprehensive climate change project since 2021.

Affirming more than 30 years of joint research history

On March 28, 2024, Associate Professor Tran Sy Nam and Researcher Huynh Van Thao from the College of Environment and Natural Resources, Can Tho University (CTU), Vietnam, paid a courtesy visit to President KOYAMA Osamu and exchanged views with JIRCAS researchers. JIRCAS and CTU have a longstanding history of cooperation spanning more than 30 years, during which they have been engaged in joint research since the 1990s and have been jointly implementing a comprehensive climate change project since 2021.

Prof. Tran and Mr. Huynh were accompanied during their visit by Professor FUJIMAKI Yoshihiro, a specially-appointed professor at Niigata University, where they attended a university-hosted international symposium before proceeding to JIRCAS. Niigata University is also a member of the Platform for the Utilization of Joint Crediting Mechanisms in the Agricultural Sector, which is managed by JIRCAS, and related information was exchanged during the meeting.
