A group of 4 faculty members including Assistant Prof. Farida Damayanti, 2 graduate students and 8 undergraduate students from Indonesia’s Padjadjaran University visited JIRCAS on February 9, 2023.

A group of 4 faculty members including Assistant Prof. Farida Damayanti, 2 graduate students and 8 undergraduate students from Indonesia’s Padjadjaran University visited JIRCAS on February 9, 2023. The group was accompanied by Associate Professor KANG Seung-won of Tsukuba University.

Padjadjaran University is the Indonesian counterpart of the SATREPS Indonesia Project "Breeding Innovation in Chili Pepper and Tomato to Accelerate Sustainable Vegetable Production in Tropical Regions”. The project is scheduled to be implemented from FY2023 by University of Tsukuba in collaboration with JIRCAS.

Dr. HOSHIKAWA Ken, Researcher of the Biological Resources and Post-harvest Division, gave an overview of JIRCAS research activities and his current research on tomato and Amaranthus genetic resources.

This visit was conducted as part of the Sakura Science Program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Associate Prof. Kang was the host of the group during their visit to Japan.
