676. JICA-JISNAS Forum on "Global Trends in Food Security and Human Resource Development in Universities and Faculties of Agricultural Sciences"
In addition to the increasingly serious impact of climate change on agricultural production, the spread of the new coronavirus over several years has caused logistics to stagnate, and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia has caused agricultural product prices to skyrocket.
Against this background, the JICA-JISNAS forum on "Global Trends in Food Security and Human Resource Development in Agricultural Universities and Faculties" is scheduled to be held in hybrid format on December 19 (Mon), 2022.
The Japan Intellectual Support Network in Agricultural Sciences (JISNAS) is a network of universities that intend to participate in international cooperation activities related to education, research, and social contribution in the field of agricultural sciences. The network is established to promote cooperation between universities that intend to participate in activities in international cooperation in terms of education, research, and social contribution etc. in the field of agriculture, as well as between universities and international agricultural research institutions in Japan. JIRCAS is one of the JISNAS members.
This forum will deepen our insights into the efforts being made in Japan and overseas in light of global trends in food security, and discuss the actual situation, challenges, and improvement measures for human resource development, including study abroad programs, at universities and faculties of agricultural sciences, which are responsible for solving this issue.
JIRCAS will also participate in this event and give a talk with the theme "International Initiatives Based on the MeaDRI Strategy - Green Asia Project". We look forward to your participation.
