422. JIRCAS International Symposium 2021 Successfully Held

The JIRCAS International Symposium 2021 on “The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation in Achieving Sustainable Food Systems in the Asia Monsoon Region―A Platform for International Collaboration” was successfully held online on November 17, 2021.

Thank you very much for your participation!

The symposium provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the role of science, technology and innovation (STI) in achieving sustainable food systems in the Asia monsoon region and to deepen cooperation among organizations involved in agricultural research and development. In addition, the speakers emphasized the importance of adapting and customizing innovations to meet the environmental and socio-economic conditions of each region in order to achieve effectiveness. In the panel discussion, it became clear that there is a need for a regional platform where key stakeholders can share evidence-based knowledge on innovations to achieve environmental goals and sustainable systems for food and nutrition security. This symposium is the first step in that direction.

The symposium can be viewed on the JIRCAS YouTube channel.
