946. What Will Humans Eat in the Future? – From Research in Food and Humans in Space

Join us on February 2 for the "Friday Night Science Café" hosted by the Tsukuba Science Tour Office, in collaboration with JIRCAS (Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences) and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency).

The "Friday Night Science Café" takes place every Friday evening near Tsukuba Station and provides a relaxed space for individuals to explore science while sipping tea. Various research and educational institutions in Tsukuba City come together to share their insights, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and sparking innovative chemical changes.

On February 2, JIRCAS, in partnership with JAXA, will present "What Will Humans Eat in the Future? -– From research in food and humans in space". JIRCAS Project Leader FUJITA Yasunari and Senior Researcher NAGATOSHI Yukari will talk about research on quinoa, which has been identified by NASA as a key food for the 21st century, and the cultivation of crops in unique environments.
This event invites you to think about the future of space and food, and offers insights into cutting-edge research and potential breakthroughs. No registration is required, so feel free to stop by and join us as we explore the fascinating intersection of food science and human space exploration. We anticipate a stimulating evening and look forward to seeing you there.
