On October 11, 2024 (Friday), 20 second-year students and one faculty member from the Ishikawa Prefectural Kanazawa Nisui High School visited JIRCAS as part of their “Tsukuba Science Tour.”
Forest Researchers from Indonesia Visit JIRCAS
On October 10, 2024, Vice Rector Iskandar Z. Siregar and Fifi Gus Dwiyanti from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB University), along with Director Yayat Hidayat from Bandung Institute of Technology, ITB) visited the Forestry Division of JIRCAS, accompanied by representatives from the National Institute of Genetics and the National Institute for Environmental Studies.

On September 27, 2024, an international workshop was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as part of the SATREPS project that commenced in April of this year, aiming to reduce methane emissions from rice paddies through intermittent irrigation.

Exhibit at Thailand Science and Technology Expo 2024 – JIRCAS Receives Recognition for Its Contributions
The Thailand Science and Technology Expo is the country’s largest annual science and technology exhibition. This year, it was held for ten days from August 16 to 25 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Nonthaburi Province. Around 200,000 visitors—mainly local elementary, junior high, and high school students—attended the event.
8th-Grade Students from Tsukuba City Gakuennomori Compulsory Education School Visit JIRCAS for “Workplace Learning Experience”
On July 25-26, 2024 (Thu-Fri), four 8th-grade (2nd-year junior high) students from Tsukuba City Gakuennomori Compulsory Education School visited JIRCAS as part of their “Workplace Learning Experience.” This marks the third visit by students from this school.
