JIRCAS Exhibits Research Innovations at the Agribusiness Creation Fair 2025

From November 26 to 28, 2025 (Wednesday–Friday), the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries hosted the Agribusiness Creation Fair 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall 3.

Future Science Talent Academy –24<sup>th</sup> Session: First-Year Students from Saitama Prefectural Kumagaya High School Learn About Transboundary Pests

On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) welcomed 40 first-year students from Saitama Prefectural Kumagaya High School for the 24th session of the “Future Science Talent Academy.”

Indonesian Students Visit JIRCAS for Exchange on Tropical Crop Disease Management

On November 13, 2025, Indonesian students hosted by the International Field Agriculture Center of the College of Agriculture at Ibaraki University visited the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS). The visit was organized following the selection of Ibaraki University’s proposal, “New Approaches to Tropical Crop Disease Management,” for the JST Sakura Science Exchange Program.

Symposium Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of International Collaborative Research between JIRCAS and the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) Held in Penang, Malaysia

On November 20, 2025, the “JIRCAS–FRI Joint 30 Years Anniversary Symposium: Findings from ecological and aquaculture research mainly focused on mangrove estuary areas in Peninsular Malaysia” was held in Penang, Malaysia.

Future Science Talent Academy – 22<sup>nd</sup> and 23<sup>rd</sup> Sessions: First-Year Students from Salesian International School Setagaya Explore the Potential of the Superfood “Quinoa”

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) welcomed 68 first-year students from Salesian International School Setagaya for the 22nd (morning) and 23rd (afternoon) sessions of the “Future Science Talent Academy.”

Future Science Talent Academy – 21<sup>st</sup> Session: First- and Second-Year Students from Saitama Prefectural Inagakuen Comprehensive Upper Secondary School Learn About JIRCAS’s BNI Research

On Friday, November 14, 2025, the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) welcomed 28 first- and second-year students from Saitama Prefectural Inagakuen Comprehensive Upper Secondary School for the 21st session of the “Future Science Talent Academy.”

2025 (19th) Japan Award and JIRCAS International Symposium 2025 Archive Videos Now Available

On Monday, October 27, 2025, the Awarding Ceremony of the 2025 (19th) Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers (also known as the Japan Award), hosted by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Council of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the JIRCAS International Symposium 2025, titled "Accelerating Application of Agricultural Technologies in the Asia-Monsoon Region," were held in a hybrid format at Hitotsubashi Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Future Science Talent Academy – 20<sup>th</sup> Session: First-Year Students from Tochigi Prefectural Tochigi High School Learn About Rice Diversity at JIRCAS

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) welcomed 42 first-year students from Tochigi Prefectural Tochigi High School for the 20th session of the “Future Science Talent Academy.”

On December 5, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) hosted the international symposium “Long-Term Impacts of Climate Change on Global Food Supply and Demand and Food Security” at Yasuyo Auditorium, the University of Tokyo.
