The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) is now accepting applications for fixed-term employment of young researchers.
In order to facilitate further advancement in research activities that address global challenges, JIRCAS is offering fixed-term employment aimed at nurturing excellent and highly motivated young researchers to conduct research in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

Formulating an Open Access Policy and Promoting the Dissemination of Research Findings
JIRCAS has been promoting OA through institutional repositories and transformative agreements with publishers to publish research findings broadly without restrictions. Recently, JIRCAS officially formulated the “Open Access Policy of the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences."
The 54th Tropical Agriculture Research Front (TARF) Public Lecture Held on March 14
The Tropical Agriculture Research Front (TARF) of the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) held the 54th TARF Public Lecture, titled “Learn about Sugarcane Ratoon Cultivation," on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 19:00 to 20:30 at the Audiovisual Room on the 2nd Floor of the Ishigaki City Health and Welfare Center. A total of 81 participants attended the event.
31 Experts and Leaders from 9 ASEAN Member Countries Visit JIRCAS
On March 18, 2025 (Tuesday), 31 experts and leaders from nine ASEAN member countries in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors visited the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS). This visit was part of the “ASEAN - Japan Workshop on Carbon Neutrality, Food Security, and Sustainable Trade" field tour.

On March 23, 2025 (Sunday), as part of the excursion activities of the 14th National Science Koshien Tournament (held from March 21 to 24), 22 students from four teams—namely, Saitama Prefectural Kawagoe High School, Tottori Prefectural Yonago Higashi High School, Ibaraki Prefectural Hitachi Daiichi High School and Junior High School (Junior Division), and Ibaraki Prefectural Namiki Secondary School (Junior Division)—visited the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS).
