JIRCAS exhibited its research results at the "Agribusiness Creation Fair 2022" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 26-28, 2022.

The event is a technology exchange exhibition where the latest research results in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food by industry, academia, and government from all over Japan are introduced in an easy-to-understand manner through exhibitions and presentations to promote collaboration among research institutions and between research institutions and businesses.

This year, the latest research results from 130 research institutes across Japan were exhibited, with lectures by experts in various fields and various projects related to the promotion of the Sustainable Food System Strategy “MeaDRI" formulated by MAFF in May 2022, and the creation of start-ups.

The JIRCAS booth exhibited research highlights in FY2021 including “Life cycle greenhouse gas reduction effects of alternate wetting and drying (AWD) technology”, “BNI-enabled wheat is nitrogen-efficient and maintains productivity with less fertilizer”, “Gregarized desert locust females and males encounter just before oviposition in West Africa” and “Development of a simple shoot-tip grafting method for virus-free passion fruit”.

On October 26, members of the International Scientific Advisory Board for Strategy “MeaDRI” also visited the JIRCAS exhibition booth and exchanged opinions with researchers.

Thank you very much for visiting our booth during the exhibition.
