JIRCAS participated in the Agribusiness Creation Fair 2021 organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and held at the Tokyo Big Sight Aomi Exhibition Halls from November 24 (Wed)-26 (Fri), with an exhibition of various research, including wheat that shows high productivity with less nitrogen fertilizer.

This event is a "technology and exchange exhibition" held to introduce the latest research results in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries and food from industry and academia throughout Japan through exhibitions and presentations, and to promote cooperation between research institutions and between research institutions and business enterprises. It was held concurrently with the "Agro-Innovation 2021” and the exhibition hall was thoroughly equipped with measures to prevent the new coronavirus, such as taking temperature, wearing masks, and disinfecting.

As an introduction of new research projects under the theme “Together for our food and planetary health”, we exhibited the Indoor Shrimp Production System (ISPS) and the Plant Factory adapted to the Asian monsoon region, which are examples of collaboration with the private-sector to put research results to practical use. We also exhibited samples of the world's first wheat crop that shows high productivity with little nitrogen fertilizer (Press release on August 31, 2021).

Thank you very much for visiting our booth during the exhibition.
