Dr. YAMANAKA Naoki, Senior Researcher in the Biological Resources and Post-harvest Division, was recognized one of the 10 major authors in soybean rust research as reported in a review article on scientometic approach to soybean rust published in the latest issue of Euphytica, an international journal on plant breeding.

A review paper on a scientometic approach to soybean rust research (Meira et al. 2020) published in the latest issue of Euphytica, an international journal on plant breeding, provided a list of countries, institutions, researchers etc. with major contributions to soybean rust research and an analysis of the research trends based on scientific papers published until 2018. Among 1,330 authors of 462 papers on soybean rust published in 1976-2018 and registered in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science database (WoS), Dr. YAMANAKA Naoki, Senior Researcher of the Biological Resources and Post-harvest Division was recognized as one of the top 10 leading authors in soybean rust research. Last year, JIRCAS registered two soybean rust-resistant soybean varieties in Paraguay in collaboration with a local institution, an achievement which was highly recognized for its academic contribution. JIRCAS will continue to promote international joint research toward the development of highly rust-resistant soybean rust varieties with the aim of achieving stable production of food worldwide.
