From May 25th to June 4th, 2026, two irrigation pumps were installed at the tertiary irrigation channel starting point in the project site.

In April 2026, we conducted maintenance work and an operational check of the observation tower installed to evaluate methane emissions from rice paddies in the Damnak Ampil Irrigation District, Pursat Province, Cambodia.

From March 9th to 12th, 2026, check gates and intake gates were installed in the tertiary channel at the project site.

From February 23rd to 27th, 2026, telemetry facilities necessary for hydrological observation were installed in the Pursat River basin.

The second Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) was held on March 5th
On March 5th, 2026, the Second Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting was held at the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) in Phnom Penh. The meeting was attended by Japanese experts participating in the project, as well as representative from Cambodian counterparts-Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) along with officials from Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, the Ministry of Environment, the Pursat Provincial Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, the Pursat Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology, and the JICA Cambodian Office.

The 9th Farmers’ Workshop was held on December 3rd, 2025
On December 3, 2025, the 9th Farmers' Water Users Association Workshop was held at the Pursat Provincial Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF) Office. This time, we invited representatives from farmers downstream of the project site's branch canal S2 to explain the SATREPS project and the benefits of intermittent irrigation (AWD).

The 8th Farmers’ Workshop was held on December 2nd, 2025
The 8th Farmers' Water Users Association Workshop was held at the Pursat Provincial Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Office (PDAFF) on December 2, 2025. The purpose was to understand the current status of water management between rice paddies using field-crossing irrigation among farmers in the project site, in preparation for future intermittent irrigation implementation.

The third short-term training in Japan (LCA) was held.
From November 17 to 22, 2025, the training for Cambodia counterparts was held in Japan. The three researchers from Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) joined this program.

In October 2025, a methane flux observation tower was installed and put into operation in the Damnak Ampil Irrigation Scheme, Pursat Province, to evaluate methane emissions from rice cultivation.
