The 9th Farmers’ Workshop was held on December 3rd, 2025
On December 3, 2025, the 9th Farmers' Water Users Association Workshop was held at the Pursat Provincial Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF) Office. This time, we invited representatives from farmers downstream of the project site's branch canal S2 to explain the SATREPS project and the benefits of intermittent irrigation (AWD). A total of 40 people participated, including farmers, representative of Farmer Water User Community (FWUC), local authorities, PDAFF, PDWRAM, RUA, and Japanese researchers. Pumps and other equipment will be installed at the project site in the future. Prior to the planned installation of pumps at the project site, downstream farmers will be informed about the project and asked to understand that the pumps will not take in large amounts of water, and that AWD is also a water-saving irrigation method.
In addition, the project is requested for the implementation of AWD in gravity irrigation areas, but the target areas have not yet been determined. If downstream farmers are interested in AWD, we would like to implement it as part of the project.
After the workshop, we conducted a field survey of the gravity irrigation areas that had been identified as potential AWD implementation sites.
