The 7th Farmers Workshop was held on July 30th-31st
On July 30th and 31st, the 7th Farmers Workshop was held in the Damnak Ampil Irrigation Schemes, Pursat Province. The workshop was attended total 47 participants, involving local farmers, representative from Pursat Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology (PDWRAM), Pursat Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), District Office in Bakan District, Commune Leader, Village chiefs, Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Japanese researchers and project members. The purpose of this workshop is to finalize new statute for the Farmer Water User Sub-Community (FWUSC). The project identified which block each plot located at the boundary of each block should belong to and confirmed each irrigation block rotation using AWD. With the facilitation of PDWRAM, the new statute is finalized. Finally, all local governments at the district, commune, and village levels agreed to the new statute.
This will be followed by the start of preparations for practical water management through AWD by the FWUSC.
