The 6th Farmers Workshop was held on July 24th

On July 24th, we had the 6th Farmers’ Workshop at the meeting room of Pursat Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF). This SATREPS project is aiming to establish the Farmer Water Use Sub-Community (FWUSC) for practicing water management by AWD. This workshop was held to share additional necessary information and exchange opinions to understand new water management. The project introduced a case of water management by AWD in Vietnam and explained some expected water management costs by AWD. The farmers understood the difference between current water management methods and proposed one by the project. The next workshop is expected to complete the new statute of FWUSC.

45 participants joined this workshop, including local farmers, representative from PDAFF, Pursat Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology (PDWRAM), Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Japanese researchers and project members.
