On November 14, 2023, a distinguished delegation comprising Ms. Beth Bechdol, Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Ms. HIBI Eriko, Director of the FAO Liaison Office in Japan, and six other members, paid a visit to JIRCAS.

Following a gracious welcome speech by President KOYAMA Osamu, three accomplished female researchers from JIRCAS, namely Dr. SHIRATORI Sakiko (Senior Researcher, Information and Public Relations Office), Dr. NAGATOSHI Yukari (Senior Researcher, Biological Resources and Post-harvest Division), and Dr. Marcy Wilder (Project Leader, Fisheries Division), provided an insightful overview of their international joint research initiatives to the esteemed guests. Subsequently, Dr. IIYAMA Miyuki, the Director of the Information Program, presented potential areas for future collaboration and engaged in a fruitful exchange of ideas with Deputy Director-General Bechdol.
