The Republic of Panama is famous for its canals connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, but it is also rich in underdeveloped but abundant land resources and with a small population of 4 million. On the other hand, most of the food must be imported, and there is a need for improving the productivity of rice and other agricultural products, cultivation management methods, and improving nutritional value. Appropriate conservation of water resources is essential not only for agriculture but also for the operation and management of canals.
