The Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, H.E. Mr. Ilidio Ximenes da Costa, paid a courtesy visit to the JIRCAS Headquarters in Tsukuba on November 19, 2020. This is the second visit of Ambassador Ilidio after he visited the Tropical Agriculture Research Front (TARF) of JIRCAS on October 22, 2020. JIRCAS President Dr. Iwanaga introduced JIRCAS’ mission and exchanged opinions with the Ambassador on the areas of potential research collaboration.  Ambassador Ilidio proposed information exchange on the possible research topics to solve the bottlenecks in the development of agriculture in Timor-Leste, including crop diversification and efficient use of irrigation water.
