The Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, His Excellency Mr.Ilidio Ximenes da Costa, visited the Tropical Agriculture Research Front (TARF) of JIRCAS on October 22, 2020.

The Ambassador exchanged opinions with TARF Director Dr. OMAE Hide about introducing cutting-edge technology that makes advanced use of the country's natural resources such as land and water, and showed high interest in research activities and human resource development systems at JIRCAS. In addition, the Ambassador was given an overview of the Asia Monsoon PFS Consortium by Mr. Yoshida of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, on the model project of the “Field for Knowledge Integration and Innovation” (FKII) being implemented at TARF, and a tour of the plant factory facilities.
