JIRCAS President Dr. Masa Iwanaga had a bilateral meeting with President Alpha Condé of the Republic of Guinea on August 26, 2016. Pres. Iwanaga who is visiting the Republic of Kenya to attend the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) in Nairobi, Kenya as a member of the Prime Minister's economic mission.

JIRCAS President Dr. Masa Iwanaga had a bilateral meeting with President Alpha Condé of the Republic of Guinea on August 26, 2016. Pres. Iwanaga attended the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) in Nairobi, Kenya as a member of the Prime Minister's economic mission.

At the meeting, Pres. Conde emphasized that the most important policy of his government is the development of agriculture centered on rice farming and it has promoted food security and economic development by exporting rice to neighboring countries. He also mentioned that his country will continue to have cutting-edge technology in rice research and request to get cooperation from JIRCAS.
