A certificate of appreciation and a commemorative gift from the Lao PDR Forest Science Research Center (FSRC) Director, Dr. Vongvilay Vongkhamsao were presented to Dr. Kenichiro Kimura, Senior Researcher of the Rural Development Division, at the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) meeting room on March 4, 2016. The certificate emphasized appreciation for the support in strengthening of the FSRC's research implementation structure, technical advice, development of forest information in Lao PDR and human resource development, and further development of future cooperation.

JIRCAS has been working with the NAFRI since 2011 on a five-year joint research project entitled “Sustainable and Independent Farm Household Economy in Indochina”.
