JIRCAS Showcases Research Achievements at “MAHA 2024,” Malaysia’s Largest Agricultural Exhibit
The 2024 Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture & Agrotourism Show (MAHA 2024) was held from September 11 (Wed) to 22 (Sun) at MAEPS Serdang in Malaysia. MAHA, organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) and held every two years, is one of the largest agricultural events in Malaysia. This year, the exhibition attracted a record number of approximately 5.51 million visitors.
51st TARF Public Lecture Successfully Held on September 12
The 51st TARF Public Lecture entitled "Exploring the Diversity of Tropical Fruit Trees Around the World" was successfully held at the Ishigaki City Health and Welfare Center on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The event was attended by 52 people.
MOU with Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute
The new MOU was signed by MARDI Director General, Dr. Mohamad Roff Mohd Noor, and JIRCAS President, Dr. IWANAGA Masa, on September 8, 2020 in an on-line signing ceremony organized by both institutes.
Deputy Minister of Malaysia visits JIRCAS
The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia, YB Senator Dato 'Seri Devamany S. Krishnasamy, visited JIRCAS on October 22, 2017 and met with JIRCAS President Dr. Masa Iwanaga and other executive staff.
Kick-off ceremony of the SATREPS Palm Trunk Project in Malaysia
The kick-off ceremony for the SATREPS Project on “Sustainable replantation of oil palm by adding value to oil palm trunk through scientific and technological innovation” (SATREPS Palm Project), a joint research collaboration of JIRCAS and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), was held at the USM Murad Mohd Noor Auditorium in Penang, Malaysia on September 19, 2019.

A delegation from the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) visited JIRCAS on February 21, 2019.
JIRCAS signed MOU with JMA
JIRCAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japan Malaysia Association (JMA) on July 3, 2019 for research cooperation on utilization of oil palm trunk as biomass resources.
The 2013 Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers
On November 20, 2013, the commendation ceremony of the 2013 Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers was held at the U Thant International Conference Hall, United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan.The ceremony was well attended by many participants, including members of the selection committee.
