The Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC) and JIRCAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on September 7, 2020. FFTC was established in 1970 to collect and disseminate research results generated by agricultural centers in the Asian and Pacific region. The center aims to provide farmers in the region with knowledge and information on new technologies that can be used to achieve higher yields and incomes.

JIRCAS and FFTC co-organized an international Workshop on “Applicable Solutions Against Rice Blast in Asia“ on September 18, 2020. Dr. IWANAGA Masa, President of JIRCAS is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of FFTC.

Since FFTC works for technology transfer within the region through its various activities like seminars, training courses and workshops, the MOU will further accelerate the dissemination of research outputs of JIRCAS.
