As a member of the steering committee of the Initiative for Food and Nutrition Security in Africa (IFNA), JIRCAS participated in the high-level meeting of IFNA under the framework of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), held on August 27, 2019 as a side event of the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7).

As a member of the steering committee of the Initiative for Food and Nutrition Security in Africa (IFNA), JIRCAS participated in the high-level meeting of IFNA under the framework of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), held on August 27, 2019 as a side event of the 7thTokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7). 

This initiative was launched by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the TICAD6 held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2016 with the aim of providing support in the formulation and implementation of country-specific action policies in 10 key countries with poor nutritional indicators. The IFNA steering committee also includes several international organizations such as FAO, WFP, WHO, UNICEF etc.
