The JIRCAS has started to implement the open data access policy which makes information on the official website available for download in CSV and JSON-LD format. Currently, JIRCAS activities, events and symposiums, publications, reports, research results, and procurement information (bid announcements) have become available as open data on the JIRCAS website at the time of download.

This initiative is based on the open data policy promoted by the government, such as taking measures to facilitate the use of public-private data as stipulated in the Basic Act on the Advancement of Public and Private Sector Data Utilization (Act No.103 of 2016). In particular, Article 11, Paragraph 2 states that “Companies are to endeavor to implement necessary measures in relation to public and private sector data held by themselves which contributes to enhancing public interest to enable citizens to easily use the relevant data via the internet or any other advanced information and telecommunications network while ensuring that the rights and interests of individuals and corporations, national security, etc. are not damaged”.
