The 2nd Meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Board for Strategy “MeaDRI”
With the launching of the Sustainable Food Systems Strategy “MeaDRI” in May 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) is promoting the application of agricultural technologies which enhance production potentials and ensure sustainable food systems. From FY2022, MAFF has initiated the project “Accelerating application of agricultural technologies which enhance production potentials and ensure sustainable food systems in the Asia-Monsoon region”, which is now being implementing at JIRCAS under the name of the "Green Asia” project. JICA-JISNAS Forum on "Global Trends in Food Security and Human Resource Development in Universities and Faculties of Agricultural Sciences"
The 11th JICA-JISNAS Forum on "Global Trends in Food Security and Human Resource Development in Agricultural Universities and Faculties" will be held in hybrid format on December 19 (Mon), 2022. The forum, in which JIRCAS will also participate as a speaker, will deepen insight into the global trends in food security and the efforts being made in Japan and abroad, and discuss the actual situation, challenges, and improvement measures for human resource development, including study abroad programs, in agricultural universities and faculties, which are responsible for solving this issue.International Scientific Advisory Board
First Meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Board for Strategy “MeaDRI”
Based on its many years of experience in international research collaboration in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, JIRCAS has been working on the project “Accelerating application of agricultural technologies which enhance production potentials and ensure sustainable food systems in the Asia-Monsoon region” since FY2022 as an implementing agency assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. On October 25, the first meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Board for Strategy “MeaDRI” was held in Tokyo and there was a lively exchange of views and advice on the activities of the project.Events
