A delegation from the Embassy of France in Japan, including the Counselor of Agriculture, Mr. Jérôme Perdreau, and the Counselor of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Dr. Claudine Girardo visit JIRCAS on October 29, 2024. In the Roadmap on Japan-France Cooperation (2023-2027) under the “Exceptional Partnership”, issued by Japan and France, both countries agreed to support the agricultural research collaboration between JIRCAS and French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD). The delegation visits JIRCAS to exchange opinions about the collaboration.

During the meeting, the research on Development of efficient control technology for desert locust based on field research in Transboundary pest management project implemented by JIRCAS and CIRAD was introduced. In addition, there was an exchange of views and information on the future collaboration by both institutes.
