The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from November 30 to December 13, 2023. As one of the events of AIM for Climate, an international initiative, a seminar introducing Green Asia was held on December 10, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from November 30 to December 13, 2023. As one of the events of AIM for Climate, an international initiative launched to accelerate innovation in agriculture and food systems to address climate change, a seminar was held on December 10, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to introduce Green Asia, a project of JIRCAS.

At the seminar, JIRCAS presented an overview of Green Asia activities, including the development of the "Technology Catalog Contributing to Production Potential and Sustainability in the Asia-Monsoon Region" as one of the outcomes of Green Asia, the holding of an international scientific advisory committee meeting, and the promotion of technology applications through joint research with research institutions in other countries. Of these, a more detailed explanation was given on BNI wheat, which is one of the subjects of demonstration research in Green Asia. Following this, the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), a counterpart organization of JIRCAS international joint research, introduced the demonstration research on BNI enhanced wheat cultivation in Nepal under Green Asia. In this way, information was disseminated on Green Asia's initiatives and efforts for further international collaboration, etc.

After the seminar, the UN, universities, private companies, and others showed a high level of interest in the Green Asia activities, providing an opportunity to raise awareness of Japan's initiatives and to expand the possibilities for future collaboration.
