The JIRCAS Fellowship Program FY2026 is now open for Applications

The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for FY2026 under the International Collaborative Research Program (JIRCAS Fellowship). Eligible Researchers currently affiliated with research institutions in developing regions are encouraged to apply for one of the five selected research themes.

Through International collaborative research, JIRCAS aims to address scientific challenges related to agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in tropical, subtropical, and other developing regions. Since its establishment in 1992, the JIRCAS Fellowship Program has contributed to strengthening research capacity and advancing scientific expertise among researchers from developing countries.

The JIRCAS Fellowship program for FY2026 invites promising researchers from research institutions in developing regions to conduct research for a one-year period under the guidance of experienced JIRCAS scientists. Research activities may be undertaken either in Japan or at JIRCAS research sites overseas, depending on the selected project.

The program is designed to promote scientific innovation and support the development of future research leaders. Throughout the fellowship period, participants will receive dedicated supervision and academic support from JIRCAS researchers with specialized expertise in their respective fields.

Applications are now being accepted. To apply, please visit the official JIRCAS website and submit your complete online application by the stated deadline. Eligible candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
