The 16th TARF Open House (Online)

The Tropical Agriculture Research Front (TARF) located in the City of Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, will hold the 16th TARF Open House online from October 31 (Mon) to November 6 (Sun), 2022 to introduce its research activities to the public as part of the outreach program for this fiscal year.

This year marks the second time that the event will be held online. Several activities have been lined up, including two special mini-lectures and four mini-lectures introducing the institute and various research outputs; and activities for children at Nekken-kun’s Room, where TARF’s mascot character will distribute original paper play sets and visitors can view 360-degree rotating photographs taken in Ishigaki Island. There will also be a looking-back corner featuring posters and reports of previous events at TARF and other activities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

In addition, there will be a live Q&A session with the speakers on the last day of the event on Sunday, November 6, from 11:00 -12:00. Please watch the mini-lecture videos that interest you and send us your comments and questions via the contact form. Questions are welcome during the live streaming.

We hope this online event will provide an opportunity to deepen the relationship between TARF and the general public, to disseminate information that can be useful for daily life, and to increase awareness on issues affecting agriculture, food, and the environment. Please join us at the TARF Online Open House 2022 and enjoy!
