From June 22 to July 18, Dr. SAFIDIMANJATO Rafaliarivony, a research collaborator from the National Center for Applied Research in Rural Development (FOFIFA), Madagascar, visited JIRCAS for a short-term training program. During his stay, Dr. SAFIDIMANJATO participated in studies related to "Output 1: Development of advanced rice paddy field utilization technology that both improves productivity and reduces environmental impact."

Dr. SAFIDIMANJATO learned techniques such as embryo rescue methods to overcome interspecific crossing barriers and chromosome doubling methods to improve fertility, and he also took part in various research activities including culture managemment and soil gas emission experiments, through which he acquired practical knowledge and skills.
