Field Visit to Madagascar (Output 3, JIRCAS Researcher Ryosuke Ozaki)

Ryosuke Ozaki, a researcher participating in Output 3 of the SATREPS– VaryAla Project, traveled to Madagascar from July to August to prepare for the upcoming intervention experiment and to conduct training for local survey enumerators.

During his stay, he finalized the selection of the target areas, the intervention design, the questionnaire items, and the criteria for choosing survey participants through on-site field assessments for Project 3, "Establishment of dissemination methods for development technologies and evaluation of their impacts on farmers' welfare statistics and land use." He also held multiple meetings with counterpart organizations and relevant loal institutions to coordinate activity schedules and operational arrangements. These efforts helped to establish a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the forthcoming intervention experiment.
