The use of biomass in the palm oil industry has the potential to transform its future. Palm oil is a widely used agricultural product worldwide, and demand continues to grow. However, palm oil production has negative environmental impacts and sustainability issues.

One of the major challenges in the palm oil industry is the disposal of biomass waste. The strategic utilization of biomass from the palm oil industry is expected to change the future of the industry. Proper utilization of biomass from the palm oil industry can not only provide economic benefits such as reducing environmental impact and recovering energy, but also be an important step towards sustainable development. However, in order to realize these utilization methods, the palm oil industry itself needs to shift to sustainable production methods by incorporating appropriate technologies, investments, infrastructure and regulatory frameworks.

This seminar aims to provide insights and perspectives on the future of the palm oil industry, using the SATREPS initiatives as examples, and to discuss how the palm oil industry can transform its industrial structure and achieve sustainability by addressing environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
