Project Leader Yasuhiro Tsujimoto Featured on the Open University of Japan’s BS231 Program
A special program titled “A New Era for Rice: Japan’s International Contributions to Agricultural Science and Challenges for Expanding Production” will be broadcast on the Open University of Japan’s BS231 channel on March 30, 2026 (Monday) at 21:00. Project Leader Yasuhiro Tsujimoto from JIRCAS is featured on the program.
This program introduces the latest achievements in Japanese agricultural science and its contributions to global food production and regional development, featuring a wide range of examples centered on rice research. Three experts appear in the studio to discuss the international initiatives of Japanese agricultural science, molecular breeding, and other cutting-edge topics from multiple perspectives.
Among them, Project Leader Tsujimoto will speak on the theme of “crop science in local contexts addressing the food crisis in Africa.” After the broadcast, the program is expected to be available via the Open University of Japan’s on-demand streaming service. We invite you to watch the program.
