JIRCAS Project in Cambodia under SATREPS Officially Starts

A JIRCAS-led project adopted in FY2023 under the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) program jointly implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been officially launched with the conclusion of the Record of Discussions (R/D) with the counterpart country, signaling the start of formal joint research.

JIRCAS Project on Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Through Paddy Water Management in Cambodia Provisionally Selected for SATREPS Program

The JIRCAS research proposal has been provisionally* selected as a new research project in the field of environment and energy for the FY2023 Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) program, which is jointly implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

MOU and Work Plan Signing Ceremony Held with Cambodia’s Royal University of Agriculture

JIRCAS and the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) of Cambodia held an MOU and Work Plan signing ceremony for the integrated climate change project on September 28, 2022 in the capital city of Phnom Penh. This project is an international joint research project that aims to reduce methane emissions from rice paddies through appropriate water management technology, and is scheduled to be implemented until the end of March 2026.
